Please find enclosed a copy of the
Training Calendar for 2004-05 covering refresher training programmes for
in-service ISS officers to be conducted by the Training Division of the
Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation during the year
2004-05.
2. On the recommendations of the National Statistical Commission (NSC), each ISS officer has to undergo Refresher Training for a period of at least four weeks every two years. In view of the same, it has been decided by the Secretary, MOS&PI to make training of ISS officers mandatory. To facilitate selection of officers for various training programmes in such a way that each ISS officer attends in-service refresher training programmes, it is considered appropriate that each officer may choose 3 training programmes in order of preference from the Training calendar for 2004-05. You are therefore, requested to send your preferences at the earliest p[ossible to the Training Division latest by 15th March, 2004.The Training Division would then finalise the list of participants for various refresher training programmes. Further as per the directions of the Secretary, MOS & PI, request for exemption would generally not be encouraged and in view of this, you may exercise options carefully.
3. The Training Division is also updating the database for each ISS officer in respect of the training so far received by him or her. You are also, therefore, requested to send the details of the training (such as name of the course, period when attended, sponsorer of the course etc.) attended by you during the last five years.
